Shut-off to last two or three hours, according to announcement from city of Ashland

By Morgan Rothborne, Ashland.news

Power was shut off in an area south of Southern Oregon University Monday morning so repairs could be made to a damaged power pole, the city of Ashland said in an Everbridge Alert.

A private vehicle was involved in an accident with the pole causing the damage and resulting power outage. Power will remain out temporarily until repairs can be safely completed. That was estimated to take two or three hours when the release was sent at 9 a.m. Monday.

Residents are asked to plan their day around the disruption and allow for electric department vehicles and personnel working in the area, the alert said.

The areas south of SOU include portions of Walker Avenue, Pinecrest Terrace, Madrone and Leonard streets.
