A 48-27 matchup offers a look ahead

The Southern Oregon University football team gave fans an early glimpse of the 2025 season during its annual spring game Saturday afternoon at Raider Stadium.
On a cool, drizzly day that felt more like fall than spring, the Raiders ran through a mix of situational drills, a full-field scrimmage, and a field goal competition in their offense-versus-defense format.
The scoring system wasn’t the easiest for fans to follow, but the Red team — made up of the offense — found its rhythm and came away with a 48-27 win over the defense.
With the first game of the season still months away — starting with a rare, 6 p.m. Thursday evening game on August 28 — Saturday’s action offered a promising preview of what’s ahead for Raider football.
