RVTD ‘Stuff the Bus’ food drive comes to Ashland on Thursday

RVTD to collect donations for ACCESS food assistance program at Safeway and Shop’n Kart

The Rogue Valley Transportation District and area grocery stores are hosting a local food drive to help hungry households across Jackson County. An RVTD bus and volunteer staff will be on hand at Safeway and Shop’n Kart grocery stores in Ashland on Thursday to collect food donations for families in need.

From Tuesday, Nov. 11, to Saturday, Nov. 15, the valley’s transportation district and stores around the county will hold “Stuff the Bus: Food Drive” events.

According to a Rogue Valley Transportation District press release, a district bus will be parked in front of grocery stores around the county to collect donations of nonperishable food items.

All donations will go to the ACCESS Food Assistance Program, which distributes groceries throughout the area through a network of local food pantries and meal programs.

Donation locations and times:  

  • Sherm’s Food 4 Less, Medford – 3 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11
  • Sherm’s Thunderbird, Medford – 3 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12
  • Ashland Safeway – noon to p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13
  • Ashland Shop’n Kart – 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13
  • Sherm’s Thunderbird, Medford – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15
