Downtown Ashland filled for Women’s Wave and SOPride Parade

Ashland Plaza was the pivot point for a pair of large gatherings Saturday, the first the “Women’s Wave” starting at 10 a.m, then the SOPride parade that began at noon at the Ashland Public Library, came down Siskiyou Boulevard and Main Street to the Plaza, then headed up Winburn Way to Butler Bandshell in Lithia Park.

Gina DuQuenne: So proud of SO Pride

“We’re going to have tons of fun,” declared Gina DuQuenne about Saturday’s resumption of the Southern Oregon Pride Festival Parade in Ashland after a two-year break due to COVID-19. The parade is set to step off at noon from in front of the Ashland Public Library and make its way to Butler Bandshell in Lithia Park. Another event, “Women’s Wave 2020,” is planned for Ashland Plaza from 10 a.m. to noon.

BottleDrop Express center opens at Shop’n Kart

The 4,500 BottleDrop account holders in the Ashland area now have a local drop-off option. Instead of taking green bags to Medford for redemption, they can now take them to Shop’n Kart in Ashland, where they can also purchase bags, print stickers and withdraw cash from their account.

After announcing last week that the ski-snowboarding area broken its all-time season attendance record, Mt. Ashland Ski Area managers announced Sunday that its season has been extended to April 23, adding two weekends on to a schedule that typically would have ended on April 9.
