Oregon U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley will be in Ashland on Sunday to host a town hall meeting starting at noon in the Ashland High School gym, his office has announced.
The meeting is the first of two set for Sunday by Merkley, who plans to host five town halls for Oregonians in March on his 2025 town hall tour of Oregon, where he will hold a community conversation in each of the state’s 36 counties. Sunday’s second event will be Grants Pass.
Conversations in Morrow, Gilliam, and Sherman counties are set for Tuesday, March 18.
“There is nothing like holding town halls directly in the communities where Oregonians live and work to get to the heart of the ideas, issues, and priorities that matter most to them,” Merkley said in a statement. “That’s why I hold a town hall for every Oregon county, every year.
“I’ve had over 590 of these conversations since Oregonians first sent me to the Senate, and each one helps fuel my fight for working families, shape policies and ideas for bills, and keeps me laser-focused on where to target federal resources to meet local needs.”
Since taking office in 2009, Senator Merkley has held an open town hall for each of Oregon’s 36 counties every year.
