Simple, inexpensive device can help make indoor air less hazardous

To better protect one’s home and loved ones from wildfire smoke, a Saturday event will provide attendees with the materials and assistance to create a household air filter, according to a post on the Rogue Valley Metaphysical Library’s site.
The event is free and open to the public, which will have its choice of two sessions to choose from: 11 a.m. to noon or 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at the Rogue Valley Metaphysical Library at 1757 Ashland St., Ashland.
Attendees will have the opportunity to build the air filter from furnished materials valued at $50, and learn how to find the best information on air quality and weather forecasts or build a “clean room” in the house.
Information on financial assistance for further air-filtering equipment will also be available.
Co-hosting the event are Ashland Fire & Rescue, Smokewise Ashland, Fire Adapted Ashland, Fire-Adapted Communities Network, and RVML Community Resource Center, according to the post.
Attendees are asked to register in advance as space and materials are limited. Each session is limited to 20 attendees.
