Authorities: Large tree fell onto a main power line, some homes along Normal Avenue may not get power back until Wednesday morning

Posted 11:02 p.m.: Power to much of the area affected by the outage has been restored, according to an Everbridge alert from the city of Ashland. Due to the amount of damage to poles and lines from the fallen tree that caused the outage, some homes along Normal Avenue may not see power restored until Wednesday morning. No further updates are expected for this power outage, according to the Everbridge alert.

Posted 9:30 p.m.: Residences in an area bounded by Ashland Street on the north, Tolman Creek Road on the east and Hillview Drive on the west are affected, Emergency Management Coordinator Kelly Burns said in a 9:30 p.m. email to Ashland.news. He confirmed the outage was caused by a large tree on Normal Avenue landing on a power line at 8 p.m.

Posted 9 p.m. Tuesday: A power outage reported in southeast Ashland was caused by a large tree falling on a main power line, according to an Everbridge alert. Electrical crews are en route to restore power to affected residents. Restoration may take as long as two hours, the alert said. 

Five electrical emergency incidents have occurred throughout Ashland from 6:09 p.m. to 8:29 p.m., according to the data on the Pulsepoint app. Incidents occurred on Orange Avenue, Hillview Drive, C Street, Normal Avenue and California Street, according to the app.
