Ralph Waldo Emerson (“Waldo to his friends) was a sixth-generation minister, yet after three years preaching at the Unitarian church in Boston (Second Church of Boston), in 1832, he left his ministry and the church. Emerson later became one of the most influential thinkers of his time through his essays, lectures, and other writings. Teddie Milligan will give a layperson’s thoughts on Emerson and his extraordinary development of a personal philosophy, which can inspire us today.
