Libraries and bookstores have limited resources—space, money, and staff.
How do libraries and bookstores decide what to order and what to feature for their patrons? On February 12, 2026, from 5 to 6 pm, the Friends of Hannon Library will present a panel of public librarians, academic librarians, and bookstore owners addressing the question every writer wants to know: how do I get my book on the shelves? The panel features Laurin Arnold, Collection Development Librarian for Jackson County Library Services, Emily Miller-Francisco, Hannon Library Interim Dean at SOU, and Megan Isser, owner of Bloomsbury Books in Ashland, with moderator Brystan Strong.
