Ski area announces refunds for tickets, rentals, and lessons as warm weather halts operations

Mt. Ashland Ski Area will pause operations indefinitely starting Thursday, Jan. 15, due to low snowpack, warm weather and no snowfall in the forecast, the nonprofit announced late Wednesday afternoon.

In a news release, officials said lift tickets, rental, and lessons purchased for the upcoming days will be refunded. The release said refund notifications will be sent via email.
Those with children enrolled in Mt. Ashland’s school and youth group learn-to-ski programs will hear from the coordinators if dates for the program need to be adjusted.
Meanwhile, the forecast calls for clear, sunny weather Thursday, with temperatures reaching 55 degrees and dropping to 51 in the afternoon. South-southeast wind will be around 9 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.
Friday temperatures are expected to reach 51 degrees, with east and southeast winds between 8 and 12 mph. Evening temperatures will drop to 42 degrees, with southeast winds blowing between 9 and 14 mph, gusting to 21 mph.
Uphill travel will continue in accordance with season rules and regulations, according to officials.
The news release said officials would continue to monitor snow levels and the weather forecast.
