“This case remains important to David’s family, the community, and the Ashland Police Department,” the release said. Attempts to reach APD Chief Tighe O’Meara for comment on Thursday were unsuccessful.

Just over 12 years ago, Ashland police officers responded to reports of a suspicious death on Central Bike Path behind Walker Elementary School, near Hunter Park at around 5:35 p.m., according to information on the Ashland police department website. The victim was identified as 23-year-old Ashland resident David Grubbs.

The Oregon State Police, Ashland Police Department, Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, Jackson County District Attorney’s office, Medford Police Department and the Central Point Police Department have all previously participated in the investigation, according to the Ashland police website.

Anyone with information on the case is encouraged to reach out to the Ashland Police Department at 541-488-2211. You can also call the anonymous tip line at 541-552-2333 or email [email protected]. The reward for information leading to an arrest on this case remains at over $21,000, according to the release.
