A tsunami warning for the Oregon coast from south of Florence and into northern California as far south as just north of Santa Cruz after a 7.0 magnitude earthquake was detected 45 miles southwest of Eureka, California, at 10:44 a.m., has been cancelled, according a bulletin from the National Tsunami Warning center at 11:54 a.m.

No destructive tsunami was recorded, according to the notice.

The city of Ashland earlier issued an alert saying “a series of earthquakes in Northern California has triggered an alert for the Rogue Valley from the USGS. USGS and National Weather Service are providing updates as information comes in. There is no threat to the City of Ashland at this time.”

The post suggests going to USGS Earthquake information for updates.

In its initial alert, the Tsunami Warning Center had said tsunami activity is forecast to begin at 11:10 a.m. in Fort Bragg, 11:20 a.m. in Crescent City and Port Orford, 11:25 a.m. in Brookings, and 12:10 p.m. in San Francisco.

A tsunami was expected in Crescent City, according to an emergency alert issued shortly after 11 a.m., with evacuation to north of 9th Street recommended.
