Director: Ashland Community Food Bank not hit directly by federal food aid cuts

The Ashland Community Food Bank operates on local grants and donations, not federal funds, but that doesn’t make it immune to the ripple effects of ongoing federal cuts, its executive director told Ashland.news in an interview. The Trump administration halted $500 million in food aid nationally at the end of March, translating to roughly 100 truckloads of food for the Oregon Food Bank, as reported by the Oregonian.

New ‘bunny hill’ built for cycling sports at Ashland Dirt Jumps park

Around a dozen volunteers worked Sunday to shape a series of mounds of earth at the Ashland Dirt Jumps park for what will become a new pump track skills area on a strip of land just west of the Bear Creek Greenway’s southern terminus near the Ashland Dog Park, just south of the Ashland Wastewater Treatment Plant and behind houses along Almeda Drive.
