Ashland photographer raising funds for August trip to Ukraine

Ashland photographer Christopher Briscoe plans to travel throughout Ukraine, personally distributing funds donated via GoFundMe to those on the ground who need it most. “Like a farmer that needs to repair his plow, or the seeds a farmer needs to plant. And I’m going to hand him the $100 bill and I’m going to ask them to look into the (iPhone) camera and I’m going to do a 60-second video of them thanking Ashland, Oregon, or whoever gave the $100.”

Ashland makes holiday merry, bright at annual Festival of Light

An estimated 15,000 people came out for Ashland’s 33rd annual Festival of Light on Friday to kick off the holiday season. There were people walking around dressed in Santa hats, Christmas tree outfits, green and red tinsel pom poms in hair, glitter sparkly as snow dusting eyes and rosy cheeks, candy cane stripe stockings, Christmas light necklaces, antler headbands, a few Grinches — and, of course, Santa’s reindeer moseying about.
