Club supports United Way food drive with donation of more than 750 pounds of food
Ashland.news staff report
What does community service mean to you?
When Ashland Middle School Black Student Union Advisor Sessceal Reynolds asked her student club this question, the answer was “giving back” to the community by starting “where they were,” in the spirit of the famed Arthur Ashe quote: “Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.”

When they saw the hard work of the Jackson County United Way and its county-wide food drive, and with the state-of-emergency the state, county and national families are dealing with food insecurities, the BSU thought supporting this food drive was the perfect way to give back to “Our Community.”
The group reached out to its fellow students, staff, and families at AMS and collected more than 750 pounds of food to present to Jackson County United Way.
