Missing women found dead after days-long search

A days-long search for two missing women ended sadly with both found dead by local law enforcement Tuesday. Jackson County Search and Rescue crews, as well as Medford and Talent police, began searching for Fortuna, California, resident Carolyn “Carrie” Carter-Griffin on Friday, and for Talent resident Mary Nougier on Monday.

Community meeting set in Talent on frequent Pacific Power outages

Pacific Power has organized a meeting in Talent to discuss power outages that have plagued the city this summer. The meeting is 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, in the Talent library, 101 Home St. It will include an opportunity to hear from Pacific Power President Ryan Flynn, who will discuss the outages and also explain what is being done to improve the power grid system.

Talent residents to rally Tuesday for reliable power

Residents of Talent will gather outside Talent City Hall on Tuesday as part of an ongoing effort to voice concern and frustration at repeated power outages in the city throughout the summer. Affected residents will “meet and be heard” at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, according to a post in the Heart of Talent Facebook group. Those in the Wagner Creek area are encouraged to attend, the post said.
